The Power of Education!
ICUEE’s education program will feature over 40 learning opportunities with leading industry experts to discuss the latest safety, regulation, operational, and technological issues affecting the utility and construction industries Sessions will run from 8:15 – 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 – 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, allowing for ample time to view and demo all that this powerful exposition has to offer.

NEW!  CEUs are now offered for all education sessions!  To provide extra value to attendees, all education sessions at ICUEE 2007 will offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

ICUEE will once again offer a special co-located education program conducted by Underground Construction Technology (UCT).  UCT is respected throughout the industry for its benchmark education and training programs related to the underground construction and rehabilitation infrastructure. This Trench Rescue Awareness program is designed to provide contractors and rescue personnel with information about trench safety and the hidden hazards associated with trench rescue operations. The instructors will explain the types of tools and equipment used by rescuers. They will also help contractors and rescue personnel understand the command structure, as well as each other's capabilities and limitations.
 
NTDPC NTDPC Fiber Restoration Exhibit – October 16-18, 2007 – Exhibit Hall: Lot Q
See what's actually under the ground when you're digging near buried telecommunications cables. The North American Telecommunications Damage Prevention Council (NTDPC) will display what forms an underground, fiber-optic telecommunications network and what is required to repair it when damaged. On display will be handholes, conduit, warning tape, emergency restoration kits, splice enclosures and fiber optic cable itself. Visit Lot Q to see live, fiber-optic splicing take place! Experienced field technicians will be on hand to discuss safe excavation practices in the vicinity of buried cables and what steps are taken when alarms indicate a fiber cut has occurred..
 

Pre-show education opportunities are also available that provide a focused, in-depth learning experience to enhance your current skill set.  Additional fees apply and space is limited, so register early.

Also new for 2007 is a fieldtrip to the McAlpine Locks & Dam.  See the nearly completed construction project replacing inactive and deteriorated locks.  This site is also home to an LG&E Hydroelectric Plant and the Louisville Repair Station, a port for floating crane heavy fleet equipment.  Space is limited.
